Timothy Sykes first rose to fame in the early part of the 21st century with the reputation of a whiz kid investor. He reportedly turned $12,415 dollars worth of gift money into over a million dollars in a few short years through daytrading as an undergraduate student at Tulane. He then went on to found Cilantro Fund Management. Later he went on to chronicle his success in his book An American Hedge Fund: How I Made $2 Million as a Stock Operator & Created a Hedge Fund . Tim Sykes gained further notoriety after starring on the first season of Wall Street Warriors, a reality tv show about the lives of various Wall Street aspiring entrepreneurs.
After a particularly disastrous investment in 2007 Sykes closed his hedge fund and started his internet business where he blogs about issues and stocks that interest him and makes daytrading picks. His blog has become well known for it's unusual candor and vulgarity.
