Educational assistance
Educational assistance is a benefit offered to many employees by their employers. Typical programs will pay tuition and sometimes expenses like books for an employee who takes courses approved by the employer, and presumably to help the employee develop new job skills.

Some programs reimburse the employee for expenses when they complete a course with an acceptable grade. Some offer extra payments for completing a degree or a certification program.
English as a second language training will sometimes be offered for those still learning English. GED training is sometimes offered for those who do not have a high school diploma. Supervisory training, computer training, and upgraded trade skills (electrician, welding, pipefitting, fork lift safety, etc) are sometimes offered.
