Rabbi trust

A rabbi trust is a trust arrangement that can be used by an employer to hold deferred pay contributions. Employees (or their beneficiaries) are not taxed until payments are received from the trust, provided that trust assets are available to the employer's general creditors in case of insolvency or bankruptcy, and the employees may not assign their trust interests to their own creditors.
