According to its website, Intrepid Potash, Inc. is the largest producer of potash (potassium chloride) in the United States. The US currently imports almost 85% of its potash needs, implying that Intrepid's market share is under 15%.

Although most potash is shaft mined, Intrepid employs a solution mining process. The five year plan focuses on increasing production while decreasing costs and upgrading facilities.
