InBev is an international brewing company headquartered in Belgium. They are in the news having just acquired the largest US brewer, Anheuser-Busch (ticker BUD), headquartered in St. Louis, MO. The acquisition is pending but is expected to close near the end of '08. InBev has been in the news for the skill with which it has arranged financing for the deal in an era of difficulty for many banks.

InBev is best known for their Bass Ale and Beck's, which one suspects will soon will be distributed through the vaunted Anheuser-Busch distribution system. InBev also owns LaBatt's in Canada.

Anheuser-Busch is best known for its Budweiser, Michelob, and Busch beer, but recently they acquired Rolling Rock from InBev and have a deal to distribution Red Hook ale products. A-B is part owner of Modello, brewer of Corona in Mexico.

News reports have speculated on how much InBev will be able to increase international sales of A-B products. Belgium and Germany have very demanding tastes and are not likely to accept American beers, but Asia is considered an attractive opportunity.
